第23屆金曲獎台語歌王、歌后出爐！第一次入圍就拿獎的荒山亮一上台就相當激動大喊：「是不是這樣？！」相當興奮的告訴大家這麼多年來他終於走到這個舞台；而台語電音天后謝金燕這次也不負眾望，拿下「最佳台語女歌手獎」，讓她興奮的在台上說：「我可不可以自稱是女神？！」
一舉擊敗洪榮宏、蕭煌奇與施文彬等歌手，拿下歌王寶座的荒山亮，一上台就感性的說：「我從台下走到台上，走了10多年，我走的很慢，但我還是走上來了，謝謝評審」，他也謝謝所有幫忙製作專輯的工作人員，沒有他們的幫忙，他不會走到這裡，更謝謝一路支持的粉絲，在他最失志的時候寫信鼓勵他，才讓他有動力繼續唱歌與創作。
荒山亮表示，很多年前跟爸爸在家看電視，「那時候剛好看到小燕（謝金燕）在台上感謝她爸爸，我爸在旁邊就問我『什麼時候換你？』，我要說就是今天」，他也在台上感謝爸爸在他沒錢時，還願意借錢給他發唱片，「更謝謝爸爸遺傳我很好的歌聲與外表，謝謝！」同時也把獎盃獻給在天上的媽媽。

謝金燕今23日拿下生平第二座「最佳台語女歌手獎」，她一上台就開玩笑說：「可不可以自稱是女神？！」讓台下粉絲興奮的直呼「女神！女神！」相當開心的謝金燕說：「上次是以電音舞曲拿獎，很多人都說我不能唱慢歌，所以這次以《月彎彎》抒情歌拿獎，非常的鼓勵我，也讓我有信心繼續嘗試不同的音樂，希望以後不管唱什麼歌都會大中」。
謝金燕也謝謝一路陪伴她的歌迷，「不論快慢歌，他們都很支持我，也謝謝唱片公司給我很大的空間玩音樂，最後也謝謝我的家人支持」。而在台上隻字不提爸爸豬哥亮的謝金燕，到了後台被問到「得獎會不會想跟爸爸說什麼？」她微笑了一下說：「下一題！」緊接著又被問到什麼時候會跟豬哥亮見面？她再回說：「下一題」，試圖避開有關豬哥亮的話題。
但謝金燕禁不起記者一再逼問，她終於鬆口：「我長得正是我的爸爸遺傳的，但歌聲是後天努力的」，強調雖然外界不斷給她壓力，但她在這個壓力下反而更加成長，會一直繼續努力下去。最後被問到會不會跟兒子分享得獎喜悅？謝金燕靦腆的笑了笑，不做回答。
